Request a search for your lost item

Fill in the details below so we can find the nearest available Accredited Detectorist (real driving distance). You confirm on WhatsApp, and the detectorist who accepts the request contacts you and sends the quote before heading out.

Every search is unique. The service is a technical attempt to locate the item: the result depends on several factors (type of jewelry, depth, soil or water, waves and tides, and how precisely you can give the spot and date of the loss). Chains, necklaces and bracelets are harder to find. Recovery is not guaranteed. Understand the limits of the service

By continuing, you agree to the use of your data for this service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

In most cases the search takes up to 2 hours on site. The total time depends on the place, the tide and how long ago the item was lost — so the sooner you call, the better the chances.

We serve beaches, rivers, lakes, resorts, parks and lawns in the regions where there is an Accredited Detectorist nearby. The list of states, cities and beaches we serve is under Where we work, in the footer. Enter your city in the form and we'll point you to the nearest detectorist.

It isn't possible to guarantee the find, because it depends on the conditions of the place. What you hire is a technical attempt, carried out by an independent accredited detectorist, with their own equipment and method. The call-out fee covers travel and the hours on site. Dr. Detector is the platform: it does not provide the search service and is not responsible for the service or the amounts charged, which are agreed and settled directly between you and the detectorist.

It varies depending on the place and distance. There is a call-out fee + an Additional fee if the item is found.

Fill in the form on this page with your city. The system calculates the distance and shows the Accredited Detectorists closest to you.

The call-out fee is paid in advance via PIX, because it covers the detectorist's travel. The additional fee for the find is only charged if the item is actually found.

Your item may be closer than you think.

Lost a ring, jewelry, keys or a phone? Here's how to find it

A quick guide for anyone who just lost something on the beach, in the sea, in the sand or on the grass. Dr. Detector is a network of accredited detectorists who search for and recover lost items with metal detectors.

  1. Don't disturb the spot. Note fixed landmarks around where it was lost.
  2. Request a search using the form on this page, with your city.
  3. The nearest detectorist contacts you on WhatsApp and sends the quote.
I lost my ring on the beach. What should I do now?

Don't dig or drag your feet in the sand: that buries the jewelry even deeper. Note fixed landmarks around the spot (kiosk, pole, lifeguard tower), don't mention it to strangers and request a search here on the site. Dr. Detector calls the accredited detectorist closest to you.

How do you search for a ring lost in the sand?

In dry sand jewelry sinks a few centimeters within minutes, and in wet sand the tide moves it. Searching by hand or with a sieve usually makes it worse. The most effective way is a sweep with a professional metal detector, in strips, starting from the most likely spot of the loss.

I lost my ring in the sea or in the water: can it be found?

It's worth trying. Detectorists with waterproof equipment search in shallow water and some also dive. The chances drop with strong waves, high tide and as the hours go by, so it's best to ask for help as soon as possible.

I lost a ring, key or phone on the grass, in a park or in the backyard. What now?

Avoid mowing the grass or disturbing the ground before the search. A metal detector finds metal objects hidden among roots and in loose soil, and the search is usually quick when the area is well defined.

Does a metal detector find chains, earrings, keys and phones?

It finds objects that contain metal: wedding bands, rings, chains, earrings, bracelets, watches, keys and phones. But chains, necklaces, bracelets and thin earrings are harder to find, even for professional equipment, and the result depends on the material, the depth and the environment. If there was a pendant, tell the detectorist: it may help the search, with no guarantee.

I found a lost ring. How do I return it to its owner?

Look for engravings inside the ring (names and dates help a lot), tell the lifeguard or the venue management and post in local city groups without showing the engraving: ask the owner to describe the piece to confirm.

Can I accept help from a detectorist who happens to be on the beach?

Yes, with care: there are honest detectorists inside and outside the network. Before accepting, agree clearly on who the person is, how they will work and what happens if the item is found. With an Accredited Detectorist you get a public profile, reviews and written rules of conduct. And the rule applies to any serious searcher: whoever is called to recover an item returns it to its owner.

Does Dr. Detector serve all of Brazil?

Not everywhere yet: service depends on having an Accredited Detectorist nearby, and the network is growing. The list of states, cities and beaches we serve is on the Where we work page (drdetector.com.br/atuacao/). Enter your city in the form: the system calculates the distance and calls the available professional closest to you.

This is a search service, not a result service: there is no guarantee that the item will be found.

Understand what influences the result · Chains, necklaces and bracelets: why they are harder

Dr. Detector is a platform that brings together Accredited Detectorists: self-employed, independent professionals who join the network by referral from existing members. Dr. Detector does not provide the search service, does not guarantee results and is not responsible for the service or the amounts charged: price and payment are agreed and settled directly between the customer and the detectorist.
